JStreetPAC in 2008

JStreetPAC is the first political action committee to endorse and raise funds for federal candidates based on their support for Israel and for American policy in the Middle East that promotes security through peace, a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and active diplomacy to address regional conflicts.

In 2008, JStreetPAC endorsed 41 candidates – 3 for the Senate and 38 for the House. 33 of the PAC’s candidates won, including four in highly competitive races for open seats and four challengers who unseated incumbents - click here for the full list.  The PAC distributed over $578,000 to its candidates, more than any other pro-Israel PAC in the two-year cycle, despite only launching publicly in April 2008.   Our endorsements made a real difference in a number of these contests, many of which were extremely tight, often edging out entrenched incumbents for fresh voices, ready to incite change.

The PAC endorsed candidates from all corners of the country, Republicans and Democrats, Arab-Americans and Jews, incumbents and first-time challengers.  JStreetPAC is looking forward to working with all 33 of the endorsees who will be serving in the 111th Congress to promote pro-Israel, pro-peace policies.
