Jeremy Ben-Ami, Executive Director. Jeremy comes to J Street from a 25-year career in government, politics and communications, here and in Israel. Jeremy has served in a number of senior government positions including as President Bill Clinton’s Deputy Domestic Policy Adviser and Policy Director on Howard Dean’s Presidential Campaign. Jeremy was most recently Senior Vice President at Fenton Communications. He also has served as the Communications Director for the New Israel Fund and started the Israeli firm, Ben-Or Communications while living in Israel in the late 1990s. Jeremy’s father was born in Tel Aviv, and much of his family lives in Israel.
Carinne Luck, Chief of Staff. Carinne is joining J Street after working at Brit Tzedek v’Shalom for three years as the Organizing and Campaign Director, where she developed a unique grassroots organizing model for pro-Israel, pro-peace activists. She has worked and consulted for a variety of peace and social justice organizations, on issues both domestic and international, and has written extensive curricula for community and youth-based organizing initiatives. Carinne was born in Israel, where the majority of her family still resides.
Joel M. Rubin, Political Director. Joel comes to J Street after recently serving on Capitol Hill as an aide to two senior Democratic Senators on foreign policy, defense, and appropriations issues. He has also served in a variety of national security positions at the State Department in both political-military and Middle Eastern affairs, as well as at the Energy Department in renewable energy. He has been awarded the congressional staffer of the year award by the Military Officers Association of America and honored with a Congressional Fellowship from the Brookings Institution. Prior to his government service, Joel served a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica on environmental issues. He earned a Bachelors degree in Politics from Brandeis University and a Masters degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, has lived in Israel and travelled throughout the Middle East, and currently resides in the Washington, DC area.
Isaac Luria, Online Campaigns Director. Isaac joins J Street after 4 years of experience in online organizing and consulting, 2 years of which he spent at the online marketing firm Donordigital in San Francisco. Isaac received his Bachelors degree in American Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. During 2007-2008, Isaac lived in Jerusalem, Israel as a Dorot Fellow. Isaac lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Sara, who is studying to become a Reform Rabbi.
Dorit Price-Levine, Research and Communications Assistant. Dorit joins J Street after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, and Political Science. Before Penn, Dorit lived and studied in Israel for a year on Young Judaea’s Year Course In Israel. At Penn, Dorit was active in the pro-Israeli/pro-Palestinian dialogue group, Salaam-Shalom. Her experience in social justice work extends to the Middle East as well, including interning at the Abraham Fund Initiatives and participating on a delegation with Faculty For Israeli-Palestinian Peace. She taught English at a day camp in Sakhnin, an Arab village in the North of Israel. She also lived in Deheishe in the West Bank, while volunteering in Bethlehem. In Washington, Dorit has interned at the Middle East Institute and worked at the law firm, Steptoe and Johnson, LLP.
